I’ve been gone for a long time. Well, it’s been a rough few months for my husband and I.First, I was super sick at the end of November. My first German winter did not agree with me. Next, I was excessively tired through all of December (more on why later). I felt like death by Christmas, and that was followed by sleeping for about 2 weeks straight.
During all these time, we were going through a lot of legal and health insurance trouble. It was very stressful, and things only got worse. By the time we reached February, it was decided that I would need to return to the United States as soon as possible. The next month was spent preparing, packing, and mourning. Not only was I leaving my new home in Germany, but I would be living apart from my husband for three months. I was not ready for this.
I do have some health news. It contributed to my exhaustion in December, and intensified our health insurance struggles. It is the reason I had to return to the US for health care. My husband and I are expecting a little, flourishing baby in August! I am excited, especially after fighting for my fertility for so long. I didn’t even think it would be possible for me to get pregnant. But I can’t say this didn’t make our unforeseen complications even more complicated.
Now I am back in the US, and have spent the past month slowly settling in and starting a new job. I hope to continue to study German. I was suppose to receive a certain level of certification (B1) in May, and I would like to still receive it before August. When my husband returns, we will be buying a new house. I hope to revive this blog once more, but I will be honest that this will take time as I have a lot on my plate. When I finally do so, I will not be posting to the extent that I was last summer.
I appreciate your patience with me over the past several months, and your support going forward!
