If you read my life update, then you know I got married last month. *cue bashful adorableness*
Well, I don’t know if you know this, but weddings are stressful! You want everything to be perfect, and it just can’t be. I mean, my wedding was perfect. But it wasn’t perfect perfect. It was just everything went well, I didn’t let myself stress out once my hair, makeup, and dress were done, it was beautiful, no one died, and we were married at the end perfect.
There is a way to help with the perfection, though. And I found that essential oils were a huge part of this. Shameless plug? Maybe. But these are the essential oils that I brought with me (my wedding was out of town, so we had to pack up the day before) and I’m so glad that I had them!
Wedding Essential Oils
Lavender: To help me sleep the night before and calm me down the morning of. Lavender is amazing for calming, as I’ve mentioned many times, and it did not disappoint this time around. I didn’t get to sleep the night before for other reasons, but the lavender helped me mellow out. Other oils to consider: Calming Blend is usually my go-to for peaceful sleep, and Grounding Blend is a good grounding oil for the morning of.
Lemon: To help wake me up and help me feel fresh. Lemon is an energizing oil that supports detox. I put it in my water the morning of as a pick me up. Other oils to consider: Metabolic Blend internally for energy; Joyful Blend, Invigorating Blend, or Wild Orange topically and aromatically for energy.
Protective Blend beadlets: I took two of these the night before and the morning off to support my immune system. You could also use the plain oil, either in water, in a capsule, or applied to the feet.
Peppermint beadlets: I love my homemade toothpaste. It gets my teeth cleaner than anything. I had to use normal toothpaste on the honeymoon, and I hated it. But it doesn’t leave my mouth minty fresh. Normally I don’t care at all. For my wedding, however, I broke out the peppermint beadlets – just one! They are very strong – for fresh breath and a bit of energy.
Woman’s Blend: This is a beautiful blend of essential oils, designed as a perfume for women. Among others things, it is known for boosting libido. It is your wedding night, after all!
Digestive Blend: This was a “just in case” oil. I thankfully didn’t have to use it, but the last thing you want is to be suffering from stomach or intestinal pain throughout the ceremony!
Melaleuca and Frankincense: I brought these for my skin. They are the best for reducing the appearance of blemishes that are past their peak. Other oils to consider for skin: Lavender, Geranium, Topical Blend.
The oils that you need. The above is just my list. They are what my body responds to and what helped me be ready for my wedding day. Based on your body and health, you may benefit from more, less, or different oils. For example: a Tension Blend, a Monthly Blend for menstrual concerns, or a Soothing Blend. Find what works for you before the night before – you don’t want to get to the wedding and the oil you brought doesn’t work for you.
Which ones would you add?
